ALEXANDER'S ANGELS

MISSION + VISION + GOAL

M I S S I O N

To further awareness of the contributions & needs of individuals with Down syndrome and to raise funds for advocacy, service and research organizations.

V I S I O N

Alexander’s Angels envisions a world where individuals with Down syndrome are not defined by their disability but by their individuality.

G O A L

To promote recognition and a better understanding of the often-overlooked attributes of individuals with Down syndrome by highlighting their abilities through events that showcase to the community-at-large the special talents within the Down syndrome community.

WHAT IS DOWN SYNDROME?

Each human cell contains 23 pairs of chromosomes; one copy inherited from each parent forms a pair for a total of 46. In Down syndrome, each cell in the body has three copies of the 21st chromosome instead of two for a total of 47. The additional chromosome is responsible, among others, for learning disabilities, characteristic physical features, as well as health issues and overall developmental problems.

Our Inspiration.

Look at the three projects we established and two others, initiated by collaborating organizations, that fueled our two major events.

Alexander’s Angels organizes events aimed to showcase special talents within the Down syndrome community and to raise funds to benefit the Down syndrome cause with emphasis on research.

In this section you will find out what's happening in our organization; what our collaborators are up to; and also what is going on in the Down syndrome community in general.
