CAP COLOR GUARD
Civil Air Patrol (CAP)
Lt. Quentin Roosevelt Cadet Squadron
Whether in full uniform leading our walk, or in "civies" at Simon Roosevelt Field, the cadets join Alexander's Angels twice a year, helping wherever help is needed. Their color guard accompanied Samantha Fanning as she sang the National Anthem.
Four of Alexander's cousins have been CAP cadets, three at the Lt. Roosevelt's squadron in NY, and one in CA. The latter is now a proud LTJRG pilot for the US Navy. Coincidentally, both the mall and the L.I. squadron are named after Lt. Quentin Roosevelt.
NATIONAL ANTHEM
SAMANTHA FANNING
Invited by our Kellie's Koalas Team (since 2007)
My name is Samantha Fanning, and I am a 28-year-old ELA teacher. I have many passions, but singing has been one of my favorite things since the 5th grade. Being able to sing the National Anthem at this event is so exciting! I am so thrilled to be a part of making this event for Alexander’s Angels special. It is a true honor to be a part of a great cause and to lend my voice to spread awareness for World Down Syndrome Day and Alexander’s Angels.
