Established by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome, the Buddy Walk®, has grown to more than 250 walks each year with at least one in every state across the country and many abroad.

Alexander’s Angels has been the organizer of the annual Buddy Walk® on Long Island since its inception in 2007.

Our one-mile walk where all teams walk together is only one component of a fun, inspirational, and educational event that celebrates the abilities and accomplishments of individuals with Down syndrome.

The Funds we raise benefit local programs and services, Down syndrome scientific research, as well as local and national advocacy and awareness initiatives that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome.

And we put the FUN in FUNdraising...

rain or shine (see pictures below)!
